Am I Following? Part 2

hi ya'll!

Today is Wednesday (as most people say "Hump" day, lol) but it's two more days till my excited weekend of moving Rachel and Stephen move in their new house and having Janelle over the weekend where we will play clue and  watch all the Hitchcock movies! (at least six, lol!)

Well, I have been listening to Andy Stanley, pastor of North Point Ministries, a huge church in Georgia. Someone recommended followseries.org to me and I have been enjoying listening to it.

He has been talking about following, and he had this:

Four stages of following:

1. Sit and listen
2. Loan Him the boat
3. Take Him Fishing
4. Leave your nets.

Mentioned in Mattew, Matthew, Peter, Andrew, John, and James just followed Jesus. No questions asked. Pastor Stanley said it's scary that they just follow a guy who they really didn't know. Apparently Luke though had a billion questions.

Growing up in the church as Pastor Stanley did, I know people who just follow Jesus. No questions. However, I know a lot of people who ask about money and where they will get the supplies they need to follow the LORD when it comes to missions.

But I think he also talks about generally following Jesus. He says it's a prerequisite to be a sinner to follow the LORD. The men who followed the LORD were not perfect and the men, sometimes did not have the best reputation (for instance, Matthew). But the more religious a person is, in my opinion, I think the harder it is for the person to follow Jesus.

When you're religious, you just think "I already follow Jesus. I go to church and I am a good person." As the pharisees believed but if you want/have a relationship with the LORD, then I think it can still be tough but you are willing to follow the LORD.

Whether you religious, irreligious, or a serious Christian, follow the LORD. As a Christian who sometimes struggles at school spiritually and likes to go through the motions and doesn't like the CCM group at her school, I know I am willing to follow the LORD. Why? Because I know it's worth it.

Not because of where I am going but because where He is leading me in life. I know He has great plans for me and I'm excited about them; sometimes scared especially whether or not I will travel, be married, and have kids, but I know whatever life He has chosen for me, I know it will be awesome!

That's all for now folks. There's nothing wrong with CCM; but a lot of the people there are not Christians and I wonder why they even come because the lessons are good; not fluffy but most of them do not take their faith seriously.

My Post High group is awesome. They take their faith seriously and I cannot wait for this opportunity to reach out to others through volleyball.

Well, I need to do some studying in contracts. Tomorrow is the quiz for evidence so I am going two days without lecture!

I hope to get all my homework done by Thursday night. Hopefully!

Again, that's all for now folks (Looney Tunes theme playing!)

Enjoy this beautiful day!

Faith.
